Getting the right fit for your Xero Shoes
If you’ve ordered shoes…
Shoe fitting is more about personal preference than geometry - 3 people with identical feet, could try the same shoe, and they could have 3 different opinions about whether the shoe fits.
So, we recommend trying them on to see what you think. If you’re planning to wear your shoes with socks, try them on that way. If you want a more barefoot experience, you can try them in bare feet or with a very thin sock. You can also experiment with removing the sockliner (insole) for an even “more barefoot” experience or to help get your ideal fit.
If you ordered sandals…
Similarly, length is a bit of personal preference. Some people want their toes up to the front edge, some people like them slightly further back, and some people even wear their sandals so that their toes hang slightly over the front edge — it’s entirely up to you!
You can use the size guide below to get started, the cm measurements are for your foot length so you can find your UK size needed. Check out the fit advice on the product page, some of our styles may require sizing up or down - this is based on our customer feedback to help guide you to the best fit.

"Good sandals but broke after 4 weeks ands then complete tumbleweeds from customer saervice. Been a week and nothing despite sending multiple emails (no phone number). So during the heatwave of our English summer I'm sandal-less. Most frustrating and really poor on their part. Posting this mainly to see if I actually get a response now."
"Require some adjusting to your feet, but once you get it they are excellent. There are some guides on youtube. Super comfortable and sturdy and the groundfeel is top notch. No signs of rubbing at all so far (touch wood) which is something that's always cursed me with other sandals. Great buy for me."
"My very first pair of barefoot footwear was the z-trail. It revolutionised my understanding of shoes and I now only ever wear barefoot shoes :). The z-trail were very comfortable and lasted 7 or 8 years of hard use (the straps broke before the sole wore out). I recently purchased the Genesis as I liked the simplicity of the design. They are incredibly comfy, grippy and secure. The sole is a lot less padded than the z-trail (which is made clear in the shoe description) but it is still very protective. They took a little bit of adjusting to fit properly so there wasn't too much pull between the toes and then to cut the straps shorter as they were far too long for my feet. I am a size uk11. 5 but ordered the uk11 as the z-trails I had in a uk12 were far bigger than needed. The 11 fit perfectly. If you are between sizes you could probably size down but probably not a whole size. They are a really great sandal which will hopefully last as long or longer than my old z-trails."
