The Genesis features an elegant contour to hold your foot, but without unnecessary support to weigh you down. In fact, Genesis is so lightweight, a Men’s size 8 is only 136 grams.

Genesis sandals come pre-laced but you can find the perfect fit in seconds using our patent-pending tension adjustment system. The huaraches-inspired lacing goes around your entire foot, so you don’t feel the toe loop. The Genesis also features a nylon Achilles strap with Silicone grip to hold on securely and comfortably.

Figuring out sizing is never easy. That’s why we also have FREE EXCHANGES. Most people find our size recommendation gives them a proper fit, but just in case, we have a free exchange program for all UK orders.

For Men looking to buy the Women’s version because it is narrower – the conversion rate is 1 times, e.g. a Men’s 7 is a Women’s 8.

Caring for your Xero Shoes

To clean your Xero Shoes, hand wash with warm water, mild soap and allow them to air dry.
We do not recommend putting your Xeros in the washing machine or dryer.

FAQs

Why don’t you use leather or hemp laces?

You can use almost anything for lacing huaraches.

In my testing, though, I found some issues with hemp and leather that I didn’t like:

Both leather and hemp tended to stretch, especially when moist
Both leather and hemp tighten and stiffen when they dry
Both leather and hemp wear out faster than our polyester laces
Leather is much more expensive
Most leather laces are rectangular, and the edges can dig into your skin
Leather isn’t vegan (for those who care about that)
Leather and hemp don’t give you as many fun colour choices

The 100% polyester cord we use is strong, light, and doesn’t stretch or tighten, especially when wet.

Also, I prefer the “slip-on” method of tying which works best with a round lace, rather than a flat one (like leather).

Needless to say, you can replace the lace we send you with whatever you like.

Great ‘barefoot’ sandal

Bought these as a replacement for a similar pair by another company that got chewed up by dogs while I was on holiday, which I’d absolutely loved. As always with new thongs/sandals it took a couple of walks to get used to the new points of contact where the feet meet the straps, but now I’m absolutely loving them. Been wearing barefoot style shoes exclusively for well over a decade now, and my feet are in so much better health than before I transitioned. Thanks for the great products, Xero!

I wear these every day above 50* F

I love these so much. There was an issue with the toe loops and we we able to get it sorted out very quickly and I honestly love these shoes. I also have their Denver boots and if its cold I wear the boots and if its warm I wear the sandals. That's literally the only 2 pairs of shoes I own

Adjust, try em out, and snip!

This was a great buy for the money! Going forward I'd love to see Xero make the sole of these a bit wider but I am still not disappointed in the least. For so cheap compared to other options, they became my favorite shoe quickly. The Xero Genesis is such a nice affordable way to get into barefoot sandals. Saw some people online saying they were disappointed with heel strap adjuster slipping. But once you find a comfortable spot you can snip the strings, re-burn the end of the Paracord, qnd put the plastic cap back on and they won't slip anymore. Just be careful and don't do too much too fast!
