Getting the right fit for your Xero Shoes
If you’ve ordered shoes…
Shoe fitting is more about personal preference than geometry - 3 people with identical feet, could try the same shoe, and they could have 3 different opinions about whether the shoe fits.
So, we recommend trying them on to see what you think. If you’re planning to wear your shoes with socks, try them on that way. If you want a more barefoot experience, you can try them in bare feet or with a very thin sock. You can also experiment with removing the sockliner (insole) for an even “more barefoot” experience or to help get your ideal fit.

Similarly, length is a bit of personal preference. Some people want their toes up to the front edge, some people like them slightly further back, and some people even wear their sandals so that their toes hang slightly over the front edge — it’s entirely up to you!
You can use the size guide below to get started, the cm measurements are for your foot length so you can find your UK size needed. Check out the fit advice on the product page, some of our styles may require sizing up or down - this is based on our customer feedback to help guide you to the best fit.

"The comfiest, hard wearing sandal. I used to go through flip flops each year because I live near the sea and like bear feet. The muscles in youf feet and calves adapt. It's basically how we are designed to feel the earth, without being crippled by the odd pebble. Well worth it. Different level of connection to the ground."
"They seem like they can be regulated with velcros, but there is only a plastic loop holding the strap. They are not expensive but this gives a feeling that they are cheaply made. I think it would be better if they were more expensive but with proper straps."
"I like the barefoot feeling. I'm still adjusting straps to get a secure but flexible fit. It seems that I have excess material either on the centre or the back. I need the back secure, so currently I have excess strap in the centre which is flopping around -the rubber grip isn't able to contain the material. The shoe shape seems to be about right; I have wide feet. That might explain the excess strap."
"They are easy to adjust. Its worth taking the time to make tiny adjustments in the straps until there's no more friction at any point on the feet."
