Lightweight Road Runner

An evolution of our best selling road running shoe, the HFS II is even more comfortable, and more stylish. While we call it a road runner, we know you’ll do much more in it and can’t wait to see the pics of where it takes you and what you do. HFS II is a high performance road running shoe that’s so comfortable you’ll wear if for pretty much everything else you do.

  • A stylish update to a classic Xero Shoes road-runner
  • Lightweight, grippier and comfier
  • A new tire tread-inspired sole

Light, Grippier, and Comfier.

Like the original HFS, the HFS II is super lightweight so you’ll feel like you’re flying down the road. And with a new tire tread-inspired outsole, you’ll feel secure even if you go off road. HFS II is so comfy, you might forget to take them off at the end of your run – we’ve even had people go to bed still wearing their shoes because they forgot they had them on!

We Haven’t Sole-d Out 🙂

The HFS II sole looks thick, but it’s an illusion. We’ve added a thin BareFoam™ layer for extra protection and wrapped it, cup-like, around the upper giving the HFS II a more familiar-looking profile.

Best for: Road running, running, walking, fitness

The zero-drop sole allows for natural movement!

Sole thickness: 9mm
Insole thickness: 3.5mm

Dangerous, not safe for running

"I would not recommend buying these as a running shoe. I've walked in them and ran with them on twice. I'll never use these to run in again ever. I think the design is flawed. The toes catch the ground. I have been running for over 25 years and never had a shoe that does this. Well for me unfortunately I found out the hard way. Running along, more like a jog and the right toe caught the ground again but this time it took me over. Skinned both hands and knee, right hand coming off a lot worse with a 2p sized piece of skin ripped off. Shame I can't upload the photo of injury and where the indent of the asphalt road caught the toe. I can't return these either as they have been worn so I am now stuck with them. Do not buy if you intend to run with them."

Love them

"These are my favourite Xero shoes (I have 3 styles) and can run in them easily if I add an extra little thin insole otherwise they are a bit too hard on my feet on tarmac. But I wish they would stock more size 13! For months Xero only have 3 or 4 styles in size 13, which is weird considering how many big men live in the UK…"

Great Experience

"Enjoyed my first run in these trainers, they were comfy and delt with bumps and stones in the road perfectly. My lower legs are aching noticeably more than usual! I'm usually size 11 and these fitted perfectly, both toe spread and width of shoe were grand."

Rusty (5/5)

"Good quality but much smaller fitting than the previous pairs I've had."

Toe box too narrow

"The shoe seems well built enough but unfortunately just too narrow in the toe box for my toes to be able to splay. It felt particularly cramped on the little toe side. I think that for a minimal shoe, it would be beneficial to have a more foot shaped design."
