Figuring out sizing is never easy. That’s why we also have FREE EXCHANGES. Most people find our size recommendation gives them a proper fit, but just in case, we have a free exchange program for all UK orders.

For Men looking to buy the Women’s version because it is narrower – the conversion rate is 1 times, e.g. a Men’s 7 is a Women’s 8.

Caring for your Xero Shoes

To clean your Xero Shoes, hand wash with warm water, mild soap and allow them to air dry.
We do not recommend putting your Xeros in the washing machine or dryer.

Z-Trek

How do I get the right size for my Z-Trek?

Use the templates that are linked on the fit page (scroll down to find the different sandal templates by size and style).

NOTE: Please measure your foot and/or use the templates. Sandal size is very often different from shoe size.

What if the Z-Trek is too long for me?

There are 54 different foot shapes. And no product will fit everyone perfectly.

If you’re not sure you have the right size, drop us an email with some photos (top, side, back) and we’ll give you our opinion.

If you have the right size but the Z-Trek shape doesn’t quite match your foot… CUT IT! That’s right, you can trim the Z-Trek with a good pair of kitchen scissors. To finish the edge cleanly, try some sandpaper. Don’t cut off too much, too soon, though. Take off just a bit, and then see how you did. Remember, you can’t UN-cut.

If you’re a man with a very narrow foot, you may be better in the “women’s” style. Conversely, women with very wide feet, or over a size 10.5, should check the sizing for the “men’s” products.

What can I do in the Z-Trek?

Pretty much anything you want. Take a walk on the beach, a hike in the woods, hang out with friends, stroll around the campsite, approach a climb, paddle a canoe, run a marathon…

I’m not sure that Z-Trek, or any sandal for that matter, is right for lateral motion sports, like tennis or basketball.

So, use your common sense and HAVE FUN!

Can I adjust the Z-Trek lacing across the toes?

You sure can. Just slide the webbing through the slots on the outside of the sole to get the tension you like.

Note: A lot of our customers report that they like the toe strap looser than they thought they would. Experiment and see what you like best.

What’s the difference between Men’s and Women’s Z-Trek?

The women’s Z-Trek is a bit narrower, and the webbing is 4mm thinner.

So if you have a narrow foot, whether you’re a man or woman, you may want to check the “women’s” sizing templates and see how those work for you. Similarly, if you have a wider foot, regardless of your gender, check out the “men’s” templates.

Awesome sandals - lovely ground feel but tough as nails

I love these. I also have the Z-Trail and also love them, but the ground feel in the Z-Trek is better and I like the feel of how they wrap around my foot just a little more than the Z-Trail, as the Z-Trek are a little more flexible. The only thing that sometimes annoys me with these is that the soles can get slippery and sweaty, but a quick dip of the feet or a wash in a puddle or river removes that problem very quickly. Love 'em!

Very pleased with this purchase

These are great: very comfortable, secure and light. You can feel the tiniest pebble through the sole, giving a great sense of connection, but without any discomfort. It's an expensive sandal for sure, but worth it if you enjoy that 'barefoot' sensation.

Not a lot for £60 plus delivery

I lot of people love these but just want to issue a caveat for those not experienced with these sandals. My experience: 1. Getting your size right is not straightforward - I used the templates, juggled euro/American sizes to ultimately order too big a sandal. 2. They are brilliantly packable ( my priority for bike packing) but are a steep learning curve for feet not used to very little protection- I had very sore feet and blisters because my feet are softer than I thought and this rendered them unusable in the end. 3. It’s a lot of money for very minimal materials. You have to really want the minimalist design over functionality. Don’t compromise if you might need a bit more support/protection - you basically have to have a strong need or feet used to little or no cushioning already, to use these on anything other than light terrain and even then I would say you need to “train” your feet before committing to using them all day.

Great sandals

Knocked a star off for sizing issues. The seller says to just order your normal size, but mine were hilariously big, as many other buyers pointed out. I had to send back and get a full size lower (UK sizes). Other than that, they are a fantastic product, albeit a bit expensive. I don’t have a huge amount of confidence in the velcro on the back, but it’s holding up so far. The raised bits on the left and right (and heel) are a great idea and my foot hasn’t come into contact with the ground at all due to those.
